Evenflo Revolve360 Slim Recall: Access to EPS Foam is Potential Choking Hazard
Evenflo is voluntarily recalling Revolve360 SLIM car seats manufactured between December 1, 2022 and December 8, 2024, for an issue that is NOT related to crash safety. The non-toxic EPS foam that lines the headrest on these Slim models needs additional tape to keep it protected from little fingers that may try to reach up under the cover and pick off pieces. If dislodged, pieces of EPS foam can present a choking hazard if a child decides to put them in their mouth.
This issue does not affect the safety or integrity of the car seat in a crash, and Evenflo isn’t aware of any incidents that resulted in injury.
Important Note for consumers who purchased Revolve360 Slim models from Amazon: Amazon Product Safety Team sent an email with the subject line “ATTENTION: Important Safety Notice about your Past Amazon Order. The email states “If you still have this product, we urge you to stop using it immediately and review the following notification for more details, including what you should do and where you can seek assistance: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls?nhtsaId=25C010000 Please don’t be freaked out by this email! You do NOT need to stop using your seat if the EPS foam is intact. It’s great that Amazon notifies its consumers about recalls, but this isn’t a crash safety issue and the email is unnecessarily alarming.
Although this recall is focused on U.S. models, Evenflo has decided to proactively include Canadian Revolve360 Slims in this recall since the potential exists for the foam to be picked at in those models of Revolve360 Slim as well.
Rotate the car seat to the side and check the white sticker label on the back of the Revolve360 for information on the model and its manufacture date. Only the *SLIM* models that were manufactured between 12/1/22 – 12/8/24 are affected by this recall. The affected model numbers will start with 3681.
Newer Revolve360 Slim models are NOT affected because there was a change in the headrest design for the 213a side-impact compliant models. Original Revolve360 models (those that are only rated up to 40 lbs. rear-facing), and all Revolve360 Extend models are also NOT affected by this issue because these are “All-in-One” models that have a booster mode. The plastic shoulder belt guide (for booster mode) on these models covers the area of the headrest that kids may be able to access. The Slim model doesn’t have booster mode, so its headrest design and the cover are different from the All-in-One models.
There is already factory-installed white tape on areas of the EPS foam in the headrest of Revolve360 Slim models to prevent kids who are seated in the car seat from picking at it, but apparently the tape doesn’t extend far enough to prevent the issue entirely. Some children have managed to get past the factory-installed taped areas and pick at the EPS foam under the cover. If they break off little pieces, dislodge them, and then decide to put them in their mouth, that could be a choking hazard. Most kids will never do this, but as we all know, kids are unpredictable and sometimes they do the darndest things.
Evenflo will mail additional tape seal and installation instructions, free of charge, to registered owners. Once the additional tape has been applied, the entire bottom edge of the headrest will be protected from child access (and picking).
Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on October 31, 2025.
