2026 Graco EasyTurn 360 Rotating Convertible Car Seat Review

The Graco EasyTurn 360 is Graco’s second rotating car seat and features some major improvements over their first rotating seat, the Graco Turn2Me. Turn2Me was plagued by design issues that aren’t a factor with EasyTurn, thankfully. Plus, EasyTurn is a 360° seat, and Turn2Me is not. Between those two seats, EasyTurn is the clear winner, but like any other car seat, it has advantages and disadvantages. Our job is to present all the information so you can make an informed decision!

ROTATION:

There are light gray rotation levers on both sides of the car seat below the cup holders, but only one lever needs to be engaged to rotate the seat. Unlocking the rotation mechanism is a 2-step process. Before you can pull the rotation lever, you must first slide and hold the blue trigger.

It’s designed this way so a mischievous sibling (you know the one 😏) can’t easily send their little bestie spinning while you’re rolling down the interstate.

Once you get used to the 2-step lever, the rotation itself is smooth and easy!

360° ROTATING SEAT COMPARISON:

Our exclusive chart below compares the various rotating car seats on the market:

REAR-FACING INSTALLATION:

When rear-facing, any of the 4 recline positions can be used to achieve an appropriate recline angle as per the recline indicator.

Do NOT use the tether when using the seat rear-facing! Leave the tether strap secured in its storage location behind the base.

EasyTurn reclined appropriately for a newborn

Installation with LATCH or seat belt (but not both simultaneously) isn’t difficult but it’s NOT intuitive, and there are plenty of opportunities for misuse. You need to understand the correct belt routing, the tether rules, and practice the installation a few times.

The RF belt path is tight. The SnugLock lockoff doesn’t have a lot of space to open, so you have to floss the belt (LATCH strap or seat belt) through the open lockoff and under the lower belt guides on both sides of the belt path before closing the lockoff. It’s easier if you can climb into the car and view both sides of the car seat from above to make sure you’re not missing anything.

LATCH Weight Limits

Rear-facing LATCH weight limit: 35 lbs.
Forward-facing LATCH weight limit: 40 lbs

Center LATCH installations with Non-Standard Spacing (LATCH Borrowing)

Not allowed. Lower anchors must be spaced 11″ across.

Inflatable Seat Belt Policy

Graco has determined that the EasyTurn CAN be installed with inflatable seat belts found in some Ford Motor Company vehicles. Other types of inflatable seat belts are still incompatible for use with the EasyTurn. When installing the EasyTurn with an inflatable seat belt, make sure the lockoff is closed and thread the seat belt OVER the top of it. Lock the retractor (located on the lap belt portion of the inflatable belt) to ensure the seat belt stays tight.

RF Installation with Seat Belt:

The SnugLock belt-tensioning device is also a lockoff. Route the seat belt according to the specific instructions in the manual (see diagram below). Remove all the slack from the seat belt, then close the SnugLock lockoff over both the lap and shoulder belt.

Grab the car seat just above one of the rotation handles and give it a tug from side to side, to check that it moves less than 1” from side to side and front to back. If you can get the installation tight enough that it doesn’t move at all when you check for tightness, that’s always ideal but a little bit of movement (especially on slippery leather or “vegan leather” seats) is acceptable as long as it moves less than 1 inch at the belt path.

Note - EasyTurn has a lot of “play” in the base when installed due to the rotational aspect of the car seat. It’s important to distinguish the difference between “play” and “installation tightness” when you check for movement at the belt path.

In the owner’s manual, Graco advises locking the seat belt at the retractor (after closing the lockoff and checking for tightness), to avoid a possible strangulation risk.

RF Installation with Lower LATCH Anchors:

The lower anchor connector strap (LATCH strap) is hidden in a compartment below the tether storage area on the back of the base. Recline the seat fully to recline position #1 to access that compartment.

The rear-facing LATCH weight limit is 35 lbs. If the rear-facing child weighs between 35-40 lbs., you must use the seat belt to install EasyTurn. Do NOT use the LATCH strap and the seat belt together.

‼️The LATCH strap setup is not intuitive and can create confusion because there is a short side and a long side of the strap due to the placement of the lanyard that attaches the LATCH strap to the storage compartment. See the video below, which demonstrates the correct routing of the LATCH strap on the Graco EasyTurn 360.

It is vitally important to your child’s safety that the LATCH strap is threaded correctly through the belt path and the lockoff on the base.

Forward-Facing Installation

When forward-facing, any of the 4 recline positions can be used to achieve an appropriate FF recline as per the indicator.

Use the tether when using the seat forward-facing! If you are already using EasyTurn rear-facing, you will need to uninstall the seat to access the tether strap. The tether strap storage location is on the back of the base. Attach the tether strap to the tether anchor behind the vehicle seat and pull it snug.

FF Installation with Seat Belt:

The seat belt installation is the same as rear-facing, but now you’re also attaching the tether strap to the tether anchor in your vehicle.

FF Installation with LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tether):

The LATCH installation is the same as rear-facing, but now you’re also attaching the tether strap to the tether anchor in your vehicle.

The forward-facing LATCH weight limit is 40 lbs. If the child weighs over 40 lbs., you must use the seat belt plus tether to install EasyTurn. Do NOT use both the LATCH strap and the seat belt together. Store the LATCH strap back in its little compartment if you are installing EasyTurn with seat belt.

‼️The LATCH strap setup is not intuitive and can create confusion because there is a short side and a long side of the strap due to the placement of the lanyard that attaches the LATCH strap to the storage compartment. See video above demonstrating the correct installation with LATCH. Just remember to also attach the tether strap once your child is using the seat forward-facing.

It is vitally important to your child’s safety that the LATCH strap is threaded correctly through the belt path and the lockoff on the base.

In some vehicles, the upper part of EasyTurn may rub on the vehicle seat back when it’s forward-facing, as it did in my Tesla Model 3. Over time on leather vehicle seats, this rubbing may cause scuff marks or damage. It’s just something to keep in mind if you notice contact and rubbing when the seat is forward-facing in your vehicle.

CHILD FIT:

The EasyTurn has a head support, body support pad, and harness covers.

Head support: Use rear-facing only with children weighing less than 20 lbs. (optional); definitely remove it if it’s pushing your baby’s head forward

Infant body support pad: Use rear-facing only with children weighing less than 20 lbs.; must be used with newborns if the infant’s shoulders are still below the lowest harness setting without it. Removing the lower body insert changes the fit on smaller babies (see pictures with 13 lb. infant below), so you may want to continue using it until your baby is close to 20 lbs.

Harness covers: Use is optional; make sure they don’t interfere with chest clip placement at armpit level

  • I always suggest to parents that they remove the harness strap covers when the baby is a newborn. As a newborn, they’re still curled up tight like a roly-poly bug, so there’s not a lot of real estate for proper chest clip placement, plus you, as a parent, are still learning how to tighten the harness properly. After a few weeks, once they’ve grown a bit and you’ve had plenty of practice tightening the harness sufficiently, feel free to put them back on.

There are 2 buckle positions to choose from, so your child isn’t sitting on the buckle. There aren’t any rules about which one to use: use the buckle slot position closest to your child’s body without being underneath them.

With the head and body support inserts, EasyTurn fits the tiny preemie doll well, which means it will fit full-term infants just fine. I did remove the harness strap covers, as you can see below.

13 lbs. and 24”. With infant body support pad and harness covers

13 lbs. and 24”. Without infant body support pad and harness covers

4 yrs. old, 36 lbs., 40”

Outgrowing EasyTurn by height when forward-facing:

The maximum stated height limit for EasyTurn is officially 49” tall, but with a maximum harness height of only 16”, it’s likely that kids will outgrow this car seat by seated height when their shoulders are above the max harness position.

Almost all forward-facing car seats, including EasyTurn, require that the harness be positioned “at” or “slightly above” the child’s shoulders. Once the child’s torso is taller than the maximum height position for the harness, “at or above” is no longer possible, and the harness has been outgrown by “seated height”.

Generally speaking, you can expect any car seat with 16” top harness height to fit most 4-year-olds, some 5-year-olds, and a few shorter 6-year-olds. It really depends on their “seated height,” which is essentially how tall they are from the bottom of their tush to the tops of their shoulders.

4 years old, 36 lbs., 40”; still has some growing room in the harness

6 yrs. old, 46 lbs., 45”; slightly too tall for the harness due to 16” top harness height

COVER/MAINTENANCE/EASE OF USE:

The cover can be thrown in the washing machine on gentle cycle. Hang to dry.

FAA/LIFESPAN/CRASH GUIDELINES:

The EasyTurn is NOT FAA-approved. We always suggest using your car seat on the plane, not only to keep your child safe during turbulence and runway incidents, but also to give you a break during the flight. It’s also safer for your car seat to be used on board rather than checked with your luggage. The Graco Contender Slim and the Graco SlimFit3 LX are good choices for travel seats.

The EasyTurn 360 has a lifespan of 10 years from the date of manufacture.

It must be replaced after any crash, including a minor one.

EASYTURN ADVANTAGES:

  • Smooth 360° rotation with 2-step rotation lever

  • SnugLock® belt-tensioning lockoff

  • Ultra-narrow design fits well next to other car seats (but you probably won’t have the space to rotate if there is an adjacent car seat)

  • Adjustable base with 4 recline positions

  • No-rethread harness with 10-position headrest

  • Harness adjustment (tightening & loosening) is smooth and easy

  • Easy-to-read level indicator

  • Energy-absorbing EPP foam

  • Steel-reinforced frame

  • Dual cup holders

  • Fuss Free™ harness holders

  • Cover comes off in sections that are machine washable

  • 10 yr lifespan before seat expires

EASYTURN DISADVANTAGES:

  • Installation isn’t intuitive, and there are plenty of opportunities for misuse

  • Small beltpath through which you have to route the seatbelt or LATCH strap

  • Switching between rear-facing and forward-facing requires you to uninstall the seat (or significantly loosen the installation) to attach/detach the tether strap

  • Low top harness height means it will be outgrown relatively quickly by height, compared with other rotating seats

  • Not FAA-approved for use on an airplane

CONCLUSION:

The Graco EasyTurn 360 is a great seat overall once it’s installed correctly. The ease of rotation, height adjustment as your child grows, and smooth harness adjustment make this seat a pleasure to use on a daily basis. However, it’s relatively easy to make mistakes during the installation process, and we’ve helped parents in the field fix some pretty scary misuse of this seat.

It’s important to recognize that EasyTurn 360 doesn’t have an intuitive installation like other (non-rotating) Graco car seats, so it’s critically important that everyone who will be responsible for installing this seat understands the correct installation method for how this seat will be used.

EasyTurn 360 is an ideal rotating seat for parents and caregivers who will be diligent in reading the installation instructions, who won’t need to switch between rear-facing and forward-facing often, and who don't plan to travel by airplane with the seat.
